Topic – Quality

Overview:  Developing leadership skills for clinicians is often an after-thought as the daily operational pressures rearrange priorities from leading a team of clinicians to performing daily crisis management and “air traffic control.” This webinar series will provide practical information to clinical leaders in hospice to help them identify their own knowledge gaps and set them up to successfully take on leadership skills which may be completely foreign for the new nurse leader.

Objectives:

At the end of this educational initiative, participants should be able to:

  1. Describe the basic tenets of clinical leadership in hospice
  2. Apply a compliance framework to clinical leadership using aspects of technical and clinical structures
  3. Define the principles of an effective QAPI program and the role of the clinical leader
  4. Explain the implications of billing errors and how regular attention to the financial health of the hospice program supports positive patient outcomes
