Overview:
The Targeted Probe and Educate (TPE) resumed in September. Do you have questions about the process? Join us for this refresher where we will define TPE and review the process. Put yourself at ease as TPE makes its reappearance.

Objectives:

  1. Define TPE and the criteria for selection
  2. Develop a clear understanding of the TPE process
  3. Review ADR process
  4. Provide guidance/references

Cari Atkinson, RN, ADN, BA, MHA, Senior Provider Education Consultant (POE), CGS Administrators, LLC

Cari is a registered nurse who started with CGS in 2017 as a Home Health & Hospice Appeals Analyst and Subject Matter Expert. Cari began working with the Medicare Program in 2016 as a home health Medical Claims Reviewer and Quality Assurance Coordinator for Palmetto GBA’s Home Health and Hospice pre-claim review project. She joined the Provider Outreach and Education team as the clinical educator in March 2020. In 2021, Ms. Atkinson earned her Master’s in Healthcare Administration from the University of Southern California. She also holds her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Penn State University and an associate degree in Science (Registered Nursing) from Harrisburg Area Community College. Cari’s primary responsibilities include offering education to home health and hospice providers through telephone conferences, webinars, and in-person training. She also reviews the monthly data from the C2C Part A Telephone Demonstration and authors the monthly newsletter associated with that demonstration. Her focus is to provide the knowledge and tools to best serve Medicare home health and hospice providers. She is currently a member of the University of Southern California’s Upsilon Phi Delta Honor Society, the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE), and the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA).

Tanith Heesch, RN, Sr. Provider Education Consultant, RN – Medical Review, CGS Administrators, LLC

Tanith joined CGS as Senior Provider Education Consultant for the Home Health and Hospice Medical Review team in August of 2017. She has 11 years of nursing experience in Home Health and Hospice encompassing Case Manager, Clinical Supervisor, Electronic Medical Record Implementation, Home Health Administrator and Director of Clinical Support and Education for multi-state providers. She has developed and delivered Home Health and Hospice education through diverse mediums and specifically has expertise in clinical documentation and regulatory compliance.

The cost for this seminar is $110.00 for members & $130.00 for  non-members.

There are no refunds, however substitutions are welcome.

Registrants will receive the Zoom link and call in information the week of the training.
This is an intermediate level course.

Upon completion of this course each attendee will be required to complete an evaluation. Each participant will then receive a general certificate. Each attendee must complete the entire course to receive the certificate. Certificates will be distributed to attendees after returning the sign in sheet and evaluation to MHPCA. SOCIAL WORKERS: MHPCA, #1359, is an approved provider for social work, continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) www.asbw.org, through the Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. MHPCA maintains responsibility for the program. ASWB Approval Period 2/28/2020 – 2/28/2023. Social workers should contact their regulatory board to determine course approval for continuing education credits. Social workers participating in this course will receive (1.5) continuing education clock hours.
