Mercy EAP Specialist

Dane has been with the EAP since 2015, with the title as EAP Specialist.  Dane’s credentials are MSW, LCSW.  He obtained his masters degree in social work from Missouri State University in 2005, and his bachelor’s degree was obtained from the University of Missouri-Columbia.  Dane has worked in healthcare for 21 years.

Overview:

This educational activity will address the sx’s of burnout and compassion fatigue faced by hospice nurses and clinicians. Risk factors for stress will be examined and solutions for mitigating stress and burnout will be explored. We will outline innovative approaches to stress management in hospice care developed during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Objectives:

1.  Define at least three sx’s of Burnout and Compassion Fatigue
2.  Identify at least two causes of Burnout and Compassion Fatigue
3.  Discuss at least one trigger for Burnout and Compassion Fatigue
4.  Describe one challenge of Hospice Care
5.  Name one innovative approach of Hospice Care developed during COVID-19
6.  List at least one solution for Burnout and Compassion Fatigue
