Palliative Care Intensive – Compassion Meets Innovation: AI in Palliative   Care  – Kuljit Kapur, DO MBA Chief Medical Officer –

Kuljit Kapur, DO, MBA, is a board-certified physician in Internal Medicine, Geriatrics, and Hospice and Palliative Medicine. Her work is grounded in the core belief that the highest-quality care for older adults and those with serious illness often happens within the home.Dr. Kapur’s clinical identity is centered on home-based palliative care, where she manages medically complex patients, leads intensive symptom management, and guides thoughtful goals-of-care conversations. She is a proponent of “upstream” palliative medicine—integrating hospice expertise early to ensure ethical, well-supported transitions at the end of life, rather than siloed, hospice-only care.Alongside her clinical practice, Dr. Kapur serves in various physician executive, advisory, and board roles for organizations focused on post-acute, rehabilitative, and home-based care. She has held leadership positions as Medical Director and Chief Medical Officer, and currently serves as Chief Development Officer within a physiatry organization. In this role, she leverages her MBA and deep operational experience to bridge compassionate clinical care with scalable, patient-centered healthcare delivery, focusing on business strategy and physician education.Dr. Kapur also contributes her expertise to medical and nonprofit boards, including a medical device company and Benedictine—an extension of Benedictine University. Through these roles, she supports mission-driven, ethical innovation and improved care standards for older adults. At heart, Dr. Kapur remains a palliative care physician. Her work in leadership, governance, and strategy is ultimately in service of a single goal: improving the experience for patients with serious illness and the families who support them.

****Opening Ceremony – Midwest Regional Conference – The Nurses Honor Guard of Mid-Missouri*****

The Nurses Honor Guard are a dedicated collective of nursing professionals committed to paying final tribute to our colleagues. It is our privilege to provide the dignity and respect our peers deserve through Nurse Tributes at funeral services, churches, and graveside memorials.
Beyond final honors, our mission of Nurses Honoring Nurses extends to the living. We actively support current and future healthcare providers by participating in:
-Pinning Ceremonies: Welcoming the next generation into the profession.
-Blessing of the Hands: Offering spiritual and emotional support for the work ahead.
-Community Events: Representing the profession at ribbon cuttings, parades, and public tributes.
